Three stories worth of trash caught on fire at the Covanta Fairfax Waste to Energy Facility in Lorton, Virginia, fire officials say.

The 2-alarm fire started at the complex at 9898 Furnace Rd. about 9 p.m. Thursday, according to the Fairfax County Fire Department.

Chopper4 was over the scene as the growing fire ripped through the roof of the industrial building Thursday. Smoke from the fire was still visible from nearby Interstate 95 the next morning.

Firefighters were still working to get the fire under control Friday morning. Fire officials says the blaze could take days to extinguish.
